Cover removed and old spine scraped off as not recoverable, Text Block (pages) were tissue repaired where required, spine was stripped of old glue to have sewing inspected, new paste and spine linings including Cheese Cloth & Mull and open back paper linings pasted on spine. Usually I save as much of the original Binding as possible, even blending new leather into the old, but Customer had requested new Leather Binding Bound in Period style, new spine with raised bands, incorporating original Brass Clasps, Gold tooling period lines and corner motif on front and back covers, Gold tooling on spine.
